Description: The Commission resolved to approve without conditions the acquisition by Nakathigona Selma Iipumbu of the member’s interest in Santa Clara Pharmacy Oshikango Close Corporation. 

Acquiring group: The primary acquiring undertaking, Nakathigona Selma Iipumbu a natural person with business interests in three other pharmacies in the Oshana, Omusati, and Kunene regions.

Target undertaking: The primary target undertaking, Santa Clara Pharmacy Oshikango Close Corporation, is a pharmacy that operates in Oshikango.

Relevant market: The Secretariat defined the relevant market to be the market for pharmaceutical products and OTC products, including but not limited to non-prescription medicine, veterinary medicine, medical devices, and skin care products in Namibia. 

Merger Determination

The Commission found the proposed transaction unlikely to result in the prevention or substantial lessening of competition; does not result in any undertaking acquiring or strengthening a dominant position in the market and does not raise any public interest concerns.
